Islamorada, Florida Keys – December 2007. After nearly 2 years of field testing in the Florida Keys, Flying Fisherman has introduced several new styles featuring a salt water resistant mirrored lens coating. New for 2008 is the Phoenix …a lightweight, wrap around sunglass with TAC polarized lenses, two-tone frames, and non-slip nose and temple pads. The Phoenix is available in three frame/lens options: matte black with smoke/blue mirror lenses, matte silver with smoke/blue mirror, or dark tortoise with amber/green mirror lenses. Islamorada, Florida Keys, November 2007 – Trying to move out a marketing message to the vast global fishing marketplace is challenging. “We’re all trying to communicate our product info to the same interests and it’s great to have an opportunity to co-promote with a manufacturer like Fin-Nor”, said Flying Fisherman President, Pat Sheldon.
Flying Fisherman will promote its high end Master Angler Series collection of polarized eyewear in conjunction with Fin-Nor’s upscale product image. The program will include in-store discount coupon incentives, trade show cross promotions, on-line opportunities, bi-annual national catalog mailings and radio station giveaways in select markets. Some participants are Bass Pro shops, some wholesale trade shows listed on the Flying Fisherman web site, Clear Channel Radio stations throughout the Florida Keys, and on both manufacturers’ web sites.
"The Flying Fisherman and Fin-Nor promotion is a win-win for anglers, " said Ed Bedore, Sr. VP of sales for Fin-Nor. "Salt water fishermen in particular know the value of quality polarized sunglasses and high performance rods and reels, so they're getting the best of both worlds from this match up of two top brands."
“Fin-Nor and Flying Fisherman…could it get any better? I doubt it”, said Mark Mills from Clear Channel Radio-Florida Keys. “Clear Channel is jazzed to be a part of this marriage of terrific active outdoor brands. Our long standing relationship with Flying Fisherman has helped Clear Channel Florida Keys become the place for folks who want to stay up on the catch and the conditions in paradise, from anywhere in the world, on the web. We couldn’t be happier with Fin-Nor joining us”.
Islamorada, Florida Keys – October 2007. It took nearly 2 years of field testing in the Florida Keys to come up with a mirrored lens treatment that didn’t come off an inexpensive pair of sunglasses after only a few days of exposure in a salt water fishing environment! The Flying Fisherman® Pro Staff took on the problem and we came up with an effective solution. New for 2008, Flying Fisherman® offers the Sundance…an ultra lightweight polarized sunglass at only .7 ozs with wrap around coverage, TAC lenses and frames made of incredibly durable polycarbonate. The Sundance is available in matte black with a blue mirror treatment over AcuTint™ grey lenses or in a rich Tortoise Shell frame with a green mirror treatment over AcuTint™ amber lenses. They’re priced around $24 US retail.
The Flying Fisherman® Action Angler Series of polarized eyewear now features TAC or triacetate cellulose lenses...a newer lens technology formulated for superior visual clarity. It’s stiffer to hold the shape...the laminating process results in excellent quality...they’re twice as scratch resistant as 1.1mm and hold scratch coatings much better as well. They withstand heat...resist shrinking...are color fast and have a very low haze value. And, they block out 100% of all UV rays up to 400 nanometers. The result...a lightweight, scratch resistant, optically correct sunlens that is hard coated, impact resistant, polarized and includes our AcuTint™ lens coloring formula for true color perception...especially for fishing.
Islamorada , Florida Keys - October 2007. “It took more than 20 years to find the time and the reason to make a video presentation about Flying Fisherman.” Said company president, Pat Sheldon. Sheldon retired from a career in television and broadcasting a number of years ago, but never got around to producing a program about his number one business concern -- Flying Fisherman -- and it’s line of polarized eyewear and apparel. “The time was now and it was well over due.” he said. “We’ve been waving our arms around about our products for years, and have needed a top quality visual representation of the whole story, including product demonstrations, testimonials and much more. It’s perfect for wholesale presentations, for training retail sales staff and for informing consumers about our products and their benefits.” The program includes some great fishing action and showcases the company’s products in their designated environment – fishing, with the right kind of images supporting the company message…making quality, affordable polarized sunglasses FOR FISHING!
